Why this needs funding
Getting a New Zealand athlete to the Paralympics or World championships is not cheap, and blind archery sits outside the high-performance pipeline that funds our rowers and cyclists. Every dollar here goes toward one of four things:
Equipment a competitiongrade recurve bow, tactile sight stand, arrows, and the custom tab and finger protection that a VI archer gets through faster than a sighted one
Coaching regular sessions with an accredited coach who understands VI technique
Travel domestic ranking events and, as Jo qualifies, international classification and selection tournaments
Spotter support training and travel costs for the spotter Jo competes with, who is part of the team, not an accessory to it
Donations are processed through Givealittle, New Zealand's trusted giving platform. Donations over $5 are eligible for a 33% tax credit, and Givealittle issues the receipt automatically.
